After just under a year of construction, the time has now come. With a festive setting and a number of prominent guests from the political and business worlds in attendance, the Salzburg-based heating specialist will be opening the new World of Windhager – known as WOW for short – on 20 August. "For our 100th anniversary, we have made our long-held dream come true and given ourselves and our customers a very special birthday present," says company owner Gernot Windhager. "With this unique exhibition and interactive world, we want to raise public awareness for regenerative heating, climate protection and the careful use of natural energy sources," explains Windhager.
Spectacular interactive exhibition
For the construction of the WOW, the former spare parts shipping department in the annex of the company's main building was completely renovated and converted. According to the designs of the architects Area and Zangl/Meirhofer, a modern building complex of around 3,000 square meters was created, in which various theme worlds were staged.
"Marvel, play, try it out" is the motto in the world of heating, the heart of the new World of Windhager. At a total of 22 stations, visitors can learn a myriad of interesting facts and useful information about energy and sustainability – from the origin of the earth as a planet of fire to the history of the development of heating and the latest boiler manufacturing technologies. The Windhager Chronicle is also presented here in an entertaining way. Impressive exhibits, modern video technology and plenty of playful interactive activities bring the WOW factor to both young and old at all the stations.
From the world of research to the world of products
The development of forward-looking heating technologies has always been an important concern for Windhager. The perfect setting for this is now the approximately 900-square-meter world of research. Another important component of the new WOW is the world of training. Windhager employees and partner installers are kept up to date with the latest knowledge in this modern training centre. And last but not least, those interested in heating can find out about the current Windhager heating program in the product world and experience the latest Windhager heating solutions live.
Treewalk and modern event area
Those who need a refreshment after visiting the World of Windhager will find a very special place to recharge their batteries in the adjacent world of delights. The modern catering area has a large auditorium, providing the perfect setting for lectures and events of all kinds. The highlight of the world of delights is the lounge bar on the roof of the building. From there, visitors can take a lofty stroll via the Treewalk into the treetops of the old Windhager poplars at the forecourt of the building and experience an incredibly special view of Windhager and Seekirchen. This gives Windhager a unique event location in Salzburg's Flachgau region. On request, the Windhager world of delights can also be rented by external groups.
The World of Windhager will be open to the public starting Wednesday 25 August.
