Room and building clearing, protected by European patent, with fully automated changeover unit and 2 suction wands.
Advantages offered by this unique system: | Optimum reliability due to 3 separate removal points (suction wands) in the storage room
| | The position of the storage room is independent of that of the heating room
| | Maintenance-free system
| | No moving parts and no electrical cables necessary in the storage room | Fully automated function checks: | "Rinsing" – If no pellets are being sucked in because of blockages, the changeover unit is rotated through 180° and the suction wand is thus "rinsed" – in other words, the feed and the return are swapped.
| | "Changeover" – If no pellets are delivered even after this cleaning, then switching to the next suction wand takes place and operation continues uninterrupted in any case. | Storage room position independent of the boiler room
The position of the pellet storage room is completely independent of the position of the boiler room or where the pellet boiler has been set up. In the vacuum extraction developed by WINDHAGER, the storage room is connected to the boiler by means of flexible plastic hoses, thereby allowing rooms or corridors to be bridged without difficulty.
The maximum transport distances or heights for the feed system are as follows (assuming a power supply of at least 230 V under load is available!):
25 m distance with 1.8 m height
15 m distance with 2.8 m height
< 10 m distance with 4.5 m height
This unique development is excellently suited to a wide range of storage room systems: |

Delivery
Wood pellets are delivered by bulk road trailer. The size of the delivery vehicles means that it is essential to allow for access in the layout planning. The vehicles generally weigh in excess of 15 tonnes, and are between 3.7 and 3.9 m tall. Therefore, it is essential to consider the following points: Are there weight limits, underpasses, narrow or steep roads, tight bends and is there a possibility for turning round?
If possible, pellet storage rooms should be located against an exterior wall, in order to keep the length of the filling hose as short as possible (max. 30 m). The delivery vehicles are equipped with a pump blower, so that the pellets are blown into the storage rooms with a positive pressure of 0.5 to 0.9 bar. The resulting positive pressure is evacuated from the storage room using the extraction blower via a filtering device. Measures must be taken to ensure that the storage room is never exposed to excessive pressure. A power socket with 230 V and at least 10 A is required for connecting the extraction blower.
Dimensions
The storage room size should be selected to enable one year's fuel quantity to be stored. The size of the storage room depends on the building heat demand. The following basic rule of thumb applies:
Building heat demand in kW x factor 0.9 m3/kW = Storage room volume in m3 (including void)
Example 1:
Detached house with building heat demand of 15 kW
A storage room volume of approx. 13.5 m3 including void is required, corresponding to a room with a 2 x 3 m floor space and 2.25 m tall.
Example 2:
Semi-detached house with building heat demand of 26 kW
A storage room volume of approx. 23.4 m3 including void is required, corresponding to a room with a 2.6 x 4 m floor space and 2.25 m tall. |
